The first Wessex League match is at Basingstoke next Sunday April 23rd. For those who haven't competed before, the Wessex League is a team event with clubs from across the region. Each event is split into A and B streams with athletes competing in three events plus a relay (if called on)...

The track and field season kicks off on Sunday March 19. Sessions for those aged 7 to 10 (Age Groups U9 and 11) are from 9.15am to 10.30. Be at the track at 9am to sign in and be ready to warm up. The senior athletes – those aged 11 and above (age groups U13/U15/U17/U20 train from 10.30 to 12 noon. Wednesday training for the older athletes will start on April 5. Until then, the XC /road training continues at the Marlborough rugby club. (Please note, there will be no training over the Easter weekend.)

Our distance runners performed well for their various schools in the Wiltshire Cross Country Champs, held at the Sheldon school, earlier this month. Top performers who earned their green Wiltshire vests were: Elliot Lassiter (Dauntsey's) who was 3rd in the Senior Boys, Dan Davis (St John’s), 4th in the Intermediate Boys, Ben Jones (Lavington), 5th in the Minor Boys, Sophie Smith (Marlborough College), 5th in the Junior Girls and Catriona Edington (Dauntsey’s), 6th in the Intermediate Girls. Special mentions also to the two Lavington Club Athletes and Madja training partners, Will Morris (Dauntsey's) 1st in the Junior Boys and Maddie George (Dauntsey's) 10th Intermediate Girls as well as Ed Tabor (Dauntsey's) 7th in the Minor Boys.
